What's in a name..
Hi, my name is Ansel Kirchubel. I am the Senior designer and CEO here at Burly Brothers. I wanted to give some insight into what our logo and name mean and why I made them the way I did.
Burly Brothers Supply Co. isn't just a company for men. It was started by a few burly guys who wanted to make products for the rest of the world that would meet our standards. When I designed our logo I wanted to represent who we were at a glance. I thought of what defined us and tried to portray that in an image.
The First part of our logo I'm going to talk about is the Beard. The beard in the logo isn't just some random stock vector, no, it's handmade and crafted from a real-life man mane. It is a vector drawing of the beard of one of our founding members Brian. This beard was chosen because it truly encompassed all of the aspects of a beard. From the underside of the chin to the moustache and sideburns, it had everything. While many focus specifically on the goatee we wanted to make sure every style was included in this beard logo. Our logo is symmetrical because the human brain appreciates symmetry and tends to find this more attractive. (as well as allows for ease of production and design)
The back to back B's are spine to spine to represent that we always have each other's backs. Whether that's not swindling you at check out, making a product that works, or just doing the right thing when we use only the finest responsibly sourced materials, we've got your back.
We believe that doing things the old-fashioned way is sometimes the best way. We are pretty tech savvy and really do love technology. However, there are some things that just can't be made the same without the love and care of personal touch. Our name, Burly Brothers Supply Co., is reminiscent of this in its old English spelling. To remind you that even though others may take shortcuts, use ingredients that aren't as safe as a natural one, and try to cut costs, we are going to do it the way it was meant to be done.
